The New Vision and the Metro Cash and Carry Teens Teaser crossword puzzle competition has finally come to an end, reports Catherine Ntabadde.Winners of the seventh and last draw of the competition on Saturday received sh225,000 from Metro’s Nakawa branch manager Kato Kimbugwe. The function was witnessed by The New Vision sales promotion executive, Rhona Kanabahita, at the Metro Cash and Carry head office, Nakawa.A total of sh1.8m has been injected into the competition, which started on December 10, 2001 and had 21 students benefiting from it.Joyce Nassozi of Old Kampala scooped the first prize of sh100, 000 followed by Daniel Semakula of Mengo Secondary School who won sh75, 000. John Nkwanga of St. Mary’s Kisubi won the third prize of sh50, 000.Kanabahita said the competition was successful since it drew a good response from the public, especially the students. She said The New Vision would continue rewarding its customers through various competitions. Fred Zake, the Metro marketing chief, said, “We have received customers from various parts of the country. We thank the public for its tremendous support.” Ends
