Col. J. M. Mulindwa, swept and removed garbage from Camp Swahili slum, the main market, the hospital compound and around the administration block.Lt. Alex Kirabo from the 3rd division headquarters said the soldiers swept the areas, removed polythene bags and human waste that had littered most parts of the town.He said the waste had all along been referred to as “land mines.”Kirabo said the soldiers also planted trees near boreholes in the municipality and challenged the mayor and the town clerk to water the trees. Tarehe Sita marks the launch of the bush war by the National Resistance Army in 1981.
