Schools invade 7s’ circuit

TWELVE schools have confirmed participation in the inaugural rugby Schools Sevens circuit that will be held at Namilyango College on Saturday.

By Ronnie Kintu TWELVE schools have confirmed participation in the inaugural rugby Schools Sevens circuit that will be held at Namilyango College on Saturday.Schools Rugby Association chairman Arthur Mbalule says arrangements to have the tournament are in the final stages and more schools are expected to join.He said that the four-round circuit will also be hosted by Kings College Budo, St Mary’s College Kisubi and St Lawrence Creamland campus respectively.In a related development, 22 participants successfully completed a level one coaching course at Kampala Rugby Union Football Club over the weekend.The course conducted by International Rugby Board (IRB) level 2 coach Steven Foxy Ojambo was targeted for coaches who will handle new and old rugby playing schools.“The participants (coaches) will be allocated to schools after they have done level 1 qualification examinations on March 10. They will be enrolled as members of the Coaching Association of Uganda Rugby,” said veteran Ojambo.Meanwhile, Kyadondo Rugby Club has organised an annual ball under the theme ‘Valentines’ to take place this Saturday at Kyadondo rugby ground.ends
