By Philip MatogoTHE articulate value of the internet in the dispersal of information is legend. However, what if the information is brewed and is on tap on a local website? Usually we have our doubts as to the informational scope of such. But there will be, as Mary J. Blige would say, “No. More pain.†A new website which orbits about information on music in Uganda is now on the net. The website, www. musicuganda.com, is a lead-off on-line reference for all music requirements on Uganda — musicians, hands radio stations, bands, choirs, Instruments, services (think mobile discos) and night sports. Interestingly, when you click nightspots and the website’s tentacles spread to data on Ugandan hang-outs from Jinja to London. The website is the fulcrum of music Uganda Ltd. The directors are Mrs Mwandha, an initiator of the Ugandan school music festivals whose crowning play was The Hydra; brothers David and Paul Mwandha and Emmanuel Egwel.Although this website is still embryonic in its data base, its promise is immense.“This site will enable Ugandans and non-Ugandans alike to know all about what the entertainment industry in Uganda has to offer,†says David. This website will surely have therapeutic use for those whose guilty pleasure leads them to want to find out more about the Shadow’s Angels, too.“We plan to promote this website abroad by writing to all music bodies like vibe. People, this way, will get a feel of music, past and present, in Uganda,†offers Emmanuel. The page to page structure projecting the words and images on this website is something worth the attention of any music aficionado.ends
