It was all smiles on Saturday afternoon at The New Vision head offices when 97 children who excelled in the Face of God Children’s competition received prizes.

It was all smiles on Saturday afternoon at The New Vision head offices when 97 children who excelled in the Face of God Children’s competition received prizes. “I will from today on wards read The New Vision and I will never miss any competition,” Miriam Kenkwanzi, a Primary Seven pupil of St. Kizito Primary School, Bugolobi said.Kenkwanzi won the first prize of a paid up trip to either Mweya Safari Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park or Paraa Safari Lodge in Murchison Falls National Park with her parents.Interestingly Kenkwanzi wished the trip could be converted to a rally bike which six of the runners- up received. The other 90 children received a New Vision T-shirt each.Mr. John Baptist Wasswa, The new Vision News Editor was the chief guest at the handover ceremony.He said the paper was investing in children who are the future news readers.Wasswa commended parents who had encouraged their children to participate. He urged them to forward their ideas to The new Vision offices on what the paper should offer to children.The New Vision Features Editor, Mrs Barbara Kaija, said they received about 4,000 entries in the two-month competition that started on December 1 last year.“We never wanted to ridicule God when we asked the children to draw the face of God. but we wanted to find out whether they really understand who God is. it has been a very interesting competition,” she said.Ends
