A team “doctor” who attempted to add a touch of class to a village football match discovered he had pressed the wrong buttons. He was chased and beaten by the same player he attempted to treat. This happened On idd adhuha day during a match between young cubs of kibale village and jogoo fc of Mpulira village at Nabisoigi grounds in Busiki county. The ‘doctor’, one Bakaali, made his presence felt as team doctor of jogoo fc by appearing in a white overcoat, borrowed from a nearby butchery. With him, he carried an improvised first aid tool box. The match kicked off at a high tempo with flying tackles raging every where as both neighbouring teams, sworn enemies, were picking up from another ill-tempered encounter last year where jogoo f.c won on spotkicks. It was one such tackle that caused all the drama. A jogoo player was fouled and groaned in writhing pain. To show his class, Bakaali ran to the spot, pulled out a can of doom spray, and proceeded to spray it all over the injured spot with some veering off to the players crotch. The player must have sensed the strong smell of doom and in an instant got up to find out to investigate the source of the strong smell. On sensing the folly, the Jogoo player was infuriated. He got up, and with all the energy he could master, gave Bakaali a spirited chase, accusing the doctor of trying to ruin his manhood. An interception by fans never helped Bakali who was given a serious beating. He however, pleaded for lenience, saying he learnt the trick from the recently concluded Cup of African Nations which he watched while away in Kampala, but never knew what was actually used. ends
