VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENTSenior Secretary to Financial UnitThe Delegation of the European Commission in Uganda represents the European Commission, which institution proposes and administers common policies and which is guardian of the European Union treaties. The main activities in which the EC Delegation in Uganda is involved are related to development, such as the co-management of the European Development Fund (EDF), the planning and formulation of EC funded projects, the implementation and follow-up of existing development projects and the evaluation of past and on-going projects. These activities are made possible, inter alia, through the instruments of the Cotonou Agreement.Applications are invited from suitable qualified persons for the position as Senior Secretary to the Financial Unit of the Delegation.Applicants must be mature persons above the age of 30 years with a pleasant personality, self-motivated and able to deal with the public in a busy organisation.Qualification: Applicants must have a minimum of A-Level certificate; advanced secretarial training from a recognised institution; computer knowledge in at least Word for Windows and MS Excel; basic experience in accountancy, reconciliation of bank statements and simplified financial and project progress reporting.
