JINJA — The district leaders have appealed to the Government to give Jinja municipal council a city status. The new district chairman, Fred Gume, said in an interview that the elevation would attract more investments. The municipality central division chairman, Baswale Kezaala, said Jinja as the second largest town should be upgraded. Jinja mayor- elect, David Wakudumira, asked the Government to support the town’s bid since it would enable it revive its former fame as Uganda’s leading industrial town and attract serious investors.Ends
