By Frederick Kiwanuka THE Police were deployed at Bombo Secondary School on Monday after the students went on strike. The students complained about rotten beans, poor sanitation and lack of medical facilities. They booed their headmaster Mr. Habib Sulaiman, and pelted stones at the school premises. The strike that took the school administration by surprise, started after the weekly school assembly. The headmaster, did not comment because he was reportedly in a closed meeting with student leaders and staff. However, a staff source told The New Vision that the beans that were being given to students had stayed for long in the school store. “The posho they are eating is first class, but the beans are old,” the source said. However, students told The New Vision that the school had also no running water and the toilets were full.
