PRIME Minister Apollo Nsibambi has called upon the private sector to join government in preparing athletes for the Commonwealth games.

By Norman Katende and Jonathan Angura PRIME Minister Apollo Nsibambi has called upon the private sector to join government in preparing athletes for the Commonwealth games.Receiving the queen’s Jubilee baton at State House, Nakasero on Wednesday, Nsibambi, who represented the president, said that different personalities need to be sensitised about the commonwealth.Parliament speaker Edward Ssekandi, who had received the baton from sports state minister Okello Oryem at Parliament, handed it to the Prime Minister.Meanwhile the Queens’ Commonwealth Games baton arrived in Jinja yesterday and was received by the Kyabazinga of Busoga Henry Wako Muloki at Jinja mayor’s gardens amid ululations.Jinja Municipal councillor Bagole Kirimwita and MP Ruth Tuma got the baton that was accompanied by the Commonwealth Games Federation president Michael Fenell, at Owen Falls Dam. ends
