Marijuana rocks Kasese

By John NzinjahMARIJUANA smoking and alcoholism is rife among the youth in Kasese town and other urban centres in Kasese district.Local councillors from various parts of the district have linked the rampant house-breaking and thefts in various areas to marijuana smoking, mairungi eating and alcoholism.Kasese district CID chief Joseph Kato last week confirmed that his office had received many reports about house-breaking and youths engaged in unlawful activities like smoking marijuana.At a recent youth meeting in Nyakasanga parish, a youth leader, Robert Kanunu, admitted that many youth have become a menace in the parish, the most populated area in Kasese town.He said too much redundancy and idleness among his peers had aggravated the misuse of drugs and alcohol.
