By Emmy AllioJames Wapakhabulo, the Third Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, has said the UPDF has the capacity to rescue all the children in the captivity of the rebel Lord’s Resistance Army.“From the reports I get, Kony and his rebels are running round and round, but they will soon get fatigued,†he said.Wapakhabulo told The New Vision that Kony no longer has fresh supplies of food, guns and ammunition. “Kony may dodge the army operations now, but he will finally find it hard to keep the children under his control,†he said. “We now know that the children are on Ngong and Imotong hills. The army has surrounded the area. There is a high hope of rescuing the children,†Wapakhabulo said.He hailed the March 10, protocol between Uganda and Sudan that allowed the UPDF to launch limited operations into Sudan in a bid to destroy the LRA and rescue an estimated 6,000 children, now trained as child soldiers.
