Nigerian Officers Arrive

FIFTY military officers from the Nigerian Command and Staff College arrived in Uganda yesterday on a study tour of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF).

By Hamis KaheruFIFTY military officers from the Nigerian Command and Staff College arrived in Uganda yesterday on a study tour of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF).Sam Edem, the Nigerian High Commissioner, on Friday said the officers would visit a number of military institutions and installations, cultural and economic sites and meet President Yoweri Museveni.“This is part of their course, it involves a study tour of African countries. This year, the college chose Uganda,” he said.Edem said the group includes two UPDF officers. Former ISO boss Brig. Ivan Koreta is at the War College. “Every year we give two slots in the college, one for a Captain and another for a Major. The purpose is to keep the two armies in contact and we are very happy with this co-operation,” Edem said.Ends
