KAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) women retained the Genocide Cup after beating compatriots Kampala City Council (KCC) in Kigali Sunday.

BY SAMSON OPUSKAMPALA Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) women retained the Genocide Cup after beating compatriots Kampala City Council (KCC) in Kigali Sunday.Alice Gitta spurred the champions over their local rivals as KAVC won 3-0. KAVC men however, fell short of their expectation of regaining the title losing 3-1 to Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) in the semi-finals.KAVC, the former three-time champions, finished second to Rwanda army side APR in the group A preliminaries at an event that drew over 15 teams.Rwanda University captured the Cup after beating defending champions KVC 3-2 in the hotly contested final.r Meanwhile, over 10 schools have confirmed entry for the inaugural All-Boys volleyball championship at St. Mary’s College Kisubi this weekend.Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) Secretary Joseph Opio said he expected a bumper entry. The schools that had confirmed on Tuesday include Bugema Adventist, Progressive SS Busoga College Mwiri, Ntare School, Kawempe Moslem School, and Manjasi High. ends
