Mbale Islamic University To Sponsor Lecturers

THE Rector of the Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU), Professor Adam Mahadi, has said the university will sponsor lecturers for their PhD programmes.

By Kenneth OtimTHE Rector of the Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU), Professor Adam Mahadi, has said the university will sponsor lecturers for their PhD programmes.Speaking at the Ninth graduation ceremony at the university campus, Mahadi said no lecturer would be teaching without a PhD by the year 2008.He said the qualifications discussed by the university council would aim at uplifting the academic standards of the university.“By the year 2008, no lecturers at this university will have a job if he or she does not have a PhD” he said.Mahadi said the university graduands were competitive in the labour market because of their discipline and academic excellency.A total of 334 students graduated in mass communication, social sciences, BA Arts education, Islamic studies, business studies and public administration. Others included post graduate diplomas in Kiswahili, education and computer science.Ends
