By John Eremu LUGAZI Mixed secondary school has questioned the formula used by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) in ranking the 2001 top ‘A’ level students. The school’s director of studies, Raymond Owino, told The New Vision on Tuesday that their top Arts student, Nathan Gessa, was left out of the best five candidates in Mukono yet he appeared to have better grades than some other students.“Our best student got a credit five in General Paper, two As and two Bs compared to the third and fourth on the list. We do not understand why UNEB left them out,” he said. The third and the fourth arts students in Mukono district were from Mt. St. Mary’s Namagunga. They all had two As, a B and a C with a C4 and D2 in General Paper.UNEB deputy secretary, secondary section, Dan Nokrach, said Gessa could have scored low quality As or Bs compared to the Namagunga students.
