THE global AIDS awareness campaign, ‘No Glove, No Love,’ has kicked off in Uganda with a tour of schools around Kampala city, reports Geoffrey Kamali. The campaign started by a US-based non-profit organisation, Africans Unite Against Aids Globally, was launched in Kampala recently. It seeks to persuade youths to use condoms if they must engage in sex and to help those afflicted by the disease to alleviate their suffering.Mr. Tiahmo Rauf, the group chairman and CEO, who is in Uganda to promote the campaign, on Friday visited Central College Kawaala in Kasubi, a city suburb, and lectured students about sex.“I walked along your streets and saw a generation gone, a lost generation. Where are they? They are gone, dead, because they did not protect themselves,†Rauf said.“You don’t need a condom if you follow God’s laws. But if you break them, then you should use a glove,†he said.Ends
