By Davis Weddi Gunfire rocked Mityana town on Monday night when Police battled and killed three out of five suspected thugs at Banda police post.The incident took place at around 9:00pm at Banda Police station where the suspected thugs were reported to have gone and attempted to hire a gun from a Special Police Constable only identified as Sematta.The dead were identified as Muzamilu, Sande and Ndihabimaana, of Mityana town.According to Police deputy spokesman John Kimera, the Police were tipped off about thugs who were travelling from Kampala to join their colleagues in Mityana town and proceed to a robbery mission.Kimera, who quoted details from a daily police operations bulletin, said the thugs were believed to be in possession of one submachine gun.“When they arrived in Mityana and joined their colleagues they divided themselves into two groups,” he said.Ends
