By Eddie SsejjobaTHE Masaka District Police Commander, Steven Kasiima, has said the Police have increased night patrols and snap check points in town and rural areas to check the increasing robberies. He, however, warned that whoever would defy Police directives to stop at check points or stop when ordered would be shot instantly. He said a motorist had been arrested for ramming into Police barriers on the Nyendo-Villa road. Kasiima was on Monday addressing a security meeting involving local leaders and residents of Lubanda in Kisekka, Bukoto South constituency. The villagers had appealed to the Police to address the issue of rampant robberies in their area. Kasiima said business people were avoiding Masaka for fear of being robbed. He said that since last December, the Police in Masaka had shot dead at least 20 thugs. He said security personnel did not suffer any casualties. Ends
