Sh100m For Jinja Division Building

By Moses NampalaJINJA Central Division has this financial year allocated sh100m to fund the construction of a new administration block for the division.The Central Division chairman, Baswale Kezaala, said there were plans to construct a three storeyed building to house the offices, which would also act as a revenue source for the division.“For a long time, the community centre has housed the division offices at the expense of the civil community who have not had access to recreation activities,” He said.Baswale was on Thursday addressing journalists in his office in Jinja town. He said the ground floor of the structure would be completed by the end of this financial year.“We have already advertised the work in the press, as the procedural rules spell out, and whoever emerges as the successful bidder will be required to complete the work within the stipulated time,” Baswale added. Meanwhile, in a bid to reduce congestion at Jinja Main Hospital, the division has started constructing of maternity wing at the division health centre, estimated to cost sh54m. Ends
