By Emmanuel Mulondo A 30-year-old man has been arrested over accusation that he beheaded his nine-year-old son just a week after a similar gruesome murder took place in Kabarole district. The latest incident took place on Tuesday in Kabulassoke village, Rwimi parish, in Bunyangabu county. It took place at around noon. The Police identified the suspect as Eric Bushobozi. The victim was identified as Samuel Rubagumya.A mob wanted to kill him but the Resident District Commissioner, Canon Benon Rullonga, sent an order and the Police rescued him. Rullonga called a press conference at Fort Portal Police Station where he expressed concern over the increasing crime suspected to be caused by drug abuse and narcotics.A sobbing Amlet Kobuhangye, the mother to the victim, said she learnt of the horrendous murder of her son after she found the beheaded body in the sitting room. Bushobozi had reportedly taken the head to the bedroom where he had hidden it under his bed.The hands had been severed off from the wrists while the lips were cut with a panga. The back of the head was also cut, raising suspicion that the killer could have extracted the brain of his victim. Bushobozi looked a bit out of his normal senses but the RDC said a decision would be made over Bushobozi’s case after a mental examination. The suspect was by Tuesday evening being held at Fort Portal Police Station. Some sources said Bushobozi was once wealthy but had become poor after selling off his property. The incident follows another on June 28, in which a drug addict beheaded a one-year-old baby. The victim was son to J. Balinda, the chief finance officer.Ends
