By Eddie Ssejjoba The Speaker of parliament, Edward Ssekandi, on Sunday said parliament would support the Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Katumba Wamala, in his efforts to fundraise for the purchase of police patrol vehicles to fight crime. He was addressing residents of Lwaggulwe in Kyanamukaaka sub-county in Masaka district. They had gathered to exchange views on radio Buddu FM in an outside broadcasting programme called Muteesezammeeme, coordinated by Dick Lukyamuzi. Ssekandi, who condemned the rampant criminal and terrorist attacks countrywide in which many lives had been lost, said parliament would support the police in buying more vehicles to intensify patrols to eliminate crime. He condemned the old fashioned way of collecting graduated tax by invading people’s homes at night and tying them up with ropes, saying such acts violated human rights. Ends
