SIR— I wish to commend the Ministry of Health for a job well done on AIDS.

SIR— I wish to commend the Ministry of Health for a job well done on AIDS. Recently Capt Mike Mukula, the minister of state for health, issued 90 million condoms for Ugandans. At this rate, every able Ugandan can bag six condoms. However, malaria is the greatest killer these days. When you check on the weekly records from the ministry of Health, you find that there are many cases of malaria country wide. It is for this reason that I request the ministry of Health to supply treated mosquito nets at subsidised prices. Right now, some people die of malaria because they cannot afford the nets.I wish to request Mukula to start with Tororo county. Let this county act as a pilot project so that the world can see that malaria can actually be greatly minimised, if not defeated altogether.Records can tell that Tororo produces a very great number of malaria cases every week, if you look into the reports filed from every district.Name withheld
