TWO UPDF soldiers were injured by the Lord’s Resistance Army rebels when they struck about 300 metres off the UPDF 4th Division headquarters on Thursday night.

The rebels struck at 11:55pm behind the wall fence of Gulu Independent Hospital.The UPDF reacted swiftly and the shootout ended at mid night.The Independent Hospital medical superintendent, Dr. Julius Mugweri, identified the injured soldiers as Pte Augustine Magezi, 22. He was shot in the lower leg. He said the second soldier, Magaya, was discharged yesterday. This is the fourth attack on the town suburbs.Security sources at the UPDF 4th Division said the rebels numbered between 15 and 20. They reportedly came from areas of Bungatira and Laliya, about three kilometres north of the town. Ends
