By Felix Osike THE Inspector General of Government, Jotham Tumwesigye, has recommended that the Inspector of Vehicles in the works and transport ministry, David Kiwanuka, be sacked for professional misconduct. In a report, the chairman of the National Medical Stores, the IGG also recommended the dismissal of Lucas Birungi, a URA officer in-charge of motor vehicle registry for allegedly conniving with Kiwanuka in the false registration of a vehicle. The IGG’s report comes barely three days after he issued another recommending the sacking of top EC officials including the boss, Aziz Kasujja. “The IGG recommended Kiwanuka’s dismissal for issuing a false report on a model of vehicle bought from Crane Auto Motors (Punjani) disguising the 1997 model as a 1998 model in order to conform to specifications set by the National Medical stores,” said a statement signed by Stephen Musigire. Yesterday, Kiwanuka said he was not aware of the case. Ends
