Sack Inspector Of Vehicles, Says IGG

THE Inspector General of Government, Jotham Tumwesigye, has recommended that the Inspector of Vehicles in the works and transport ministry, David Kiwanuka, be sacked for professional misconduct.

By Felix OsikeTHE Inspector General of Government, Jotham Tumwesigye, has recommended that the Inspector of Vehicles in the works and transport ministry, David Kiwanuka, be sacked for professional misconduct.In a report, the chairman of the National Medical Stores, the IGG also recommended the dismissal of Lucas Birungi, a URA officer in-charge of motor vehicle registry for allegedly conniving with Kiwanuka in the false registration of a vehicle.The IGG’s report comes barely three days after he issued another recommending the sacking of top EC officials including the boss, Aziz Kasujja. “The IGG recommended Kiwanuka’s dismissal for issuing a false report on a model of vehicle bought from Crane Auto Motors (Punjani) disguising the 1997 model as a 1998 model in order to conform to specifications set by the National Medical stores,” said a statement signed by Stephen Musigire.Yesterday, Kiwanuka said he was not aware of the case.
