Bumba graces Nakaseke meet

By Vision CorrespondentKiKAMULo team Sunday won the Nakaseke county Football tournament after beating Nakaseke 2-0 in a cup final that was watched by a mammoth crowd at Nakaseke University ground, Luwero district.The tournament was sponsored by Kobil Uganda and the final was graced by energy and mineral development minister Syda Bumba. At the colourful closing function, Bumba called upon the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) officials to concentrate on tapping talented players in the rural sector to build a strong national team.The minister also a member of Parliament for Nakaseke County said she was set to help in co-operation and team work in her constituency. “I am glad that private companies such as Kobil have realised the need to promote rural sports starting from Nakaseke. These are the friends ready to help my people,”she said amidst applause from the excited crowd.The winners of the eight-team tournament lifted a trophy and a bull donated by Bumba.FUFA secretary Haruna Mawanda also commended Kobil for sponsoring a tournament in Nakaseke, a rural place where they have no investment. Kobil’s public relations’ officer; Yvonne Mpanga was pleased with the local participation and promised to encourage Kobil to make this tournament an annual event..Kobil donated uniforms to all participants and fuel worth sh1m.
