SIR— We in eastern Uganda who are supposed to use the Mbale TV transmitter have been left out. Whatever comes from it to our screens possibly needs a decoder to align the pictures and give out the sound. It appears as if we are trying to fluke a transmission which is subject to subscription. Whoever is managing the station, I would say, is not interested. How is it possible to show ‘dancing’ pictures with no sound for two years and you call it telecasting? Sometimes the ‘dancing’ pictures go off for a month or so and we are left waiting for the time it will be back. To our surprise, the pictures come back even worse! If it is the equipment that has seen days, let us be like the people of Jinja, put us on UHF.Stephen NserekoSoroti
