By John EremuPRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni on Saturday took time off the frontline in Gulu and returned briefly to Kampala to attend the wedding of Philip Rukikaire and Lenina Kemigisha Mbabazi.Museveni said he attended the wedding in recognition of the couple’s parents’ contribution to fighting dictatorship in Uganda,” a statement from the State House said yesterday.Philip is son to former state minister for finance, Matthew Rukikaire, while Lenina is daughter to defence minister Amama Mbabazi.Philip and Lenina took their marriage vows before Archbishop Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe.Museveni, accompanied by his wife Janet, advised the young couple to regard marriage as a gift and miracle from God, which, if handled well will be a good asset for them.Museveni’s stay in the north has seen the Uganda People’s Defence Forces register a number of successes against the Lord’s Resistance Army.Ends
