Cheeye Blocks Kololo Eviction

THE Internal Security Organisation (ISO) deputy director of economic affairs, Teddy Seezi Cheeye, yesterday blocked the eviction of a tenant from Flat 5A Fumu Close belonging to National Housing Corporation.

He was also told not to transact any business on the properties. In a letter dated August 29, 2002, the Principal State Attorney, Olive Zaale, said there was no instrument transferring property 74, 76 and 78 Prince Charles Drive, Kololo, from Uganda Land Commission to NH&CC where Musoke claims to have bought them. “In fact Statutory Instrument No. of 1984 does not exist on the Statute book,” read the letter to Cheeye.President Yoweri Museveni instructed Cheeye was instructed on June 13 to probe the corporationOfficials of Kamugisha Agencies auctioneers were dispersed by Cheeye and his armed guards before they evicted Mrs Evas Babigumira, a Uganda Revenue Authority official, who has lived in the house since 1994. The auctioners said Cheeye illegally stopped the course of justice.Ends
