800 Pader Children Displaced By LRA Insurgency

The Lords Resistance Army (LRA) rebel activities have displaced 836 children from Pader to Kotido district, reports David Muwanga.

The Lords Resistance Army (LRA) rebel activities have displaced 836 children from Pader to Kotido district, reports David Muwanga.

The children, ranging between five and 18 years, escaped from the rebels and live in various primary schools in Kotido district. They are looked after by the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Government.

Seventy of them are at Abim primary school, 389 at Kotido mixed primary school and 177 in Kotido army school.

State minister for disaster preparedness Christine Aporu said 117 had been relocated to their relatives in Kotido. She was speaking to The New Vision on Thursday, at her office in Kampala.
