water taps in Police stations and barracks have run dry.
Tired of long outstanding bills said to be in millions of shillings, the National Water and Sewerage Cooperation (NWSC) on Monday moved in and cut off water to the Police Force.
The move, which by yesterday had entered into the fourth day, has not only plunged the Force into a massive water crisis but has also deepened its woes. This is the third water crisis to hit the Force in a year.
The water crisis has disrupted Police operations and put the lives of thousands of officers and inmates in danger.
The Police training school in Kibuli (PTS), which houses the Force headquarters, the Central Police Station, Kira Road Police Station, Ntinda and Nsambya barracks are among those affected.
“It is true we have been disconnected and the situation is bad,” the commandant PTS, Felix Ndyomugyenyi, said. Ends
