THE deputy mayor of Jinja Municipality, Bagole Kirimwita, has urged councillors of Mpumudde/Kimaka division to read the Local Government Act and other laws to enable them work smoothly, reports <b>Esther Mukyala In Jinja.</b>

THE deputy mayor of Jinja Municipality, Bagole Kirimwita, has urged councillors of Mpumudde/Kimaka division to read the Local Government Act and other laws to enable them work smoothly, reports Esther Mukyala In Jinja.
He said councillors should know all the local government laws properly to avoid contravening them.
“The people who voted for you expect you to be knowledgeable. They will come to you asking about the land law but if you prove ignorant, the electorate will lose confidence in you and will not entrust you with their vote next time,” he said.
He was addressing councillors and civil servants at Mpumudde/ Kimaka division during on Saturday.
He urged them to develop close working relations with councillors at all levels. He warned them against political bickering.
The division chairman, Michael Kasede, urged road engineers repairing roads to void shoddy work. Ends
