IGANGA – Unidentified thugs on Monday night stole 3,800 metres of overhead electricity cables on the Iganga-Bugiri powerline, causing a power blackout in Busesa town and neighbouring Bugiri district.
Iganga district technician Godfrey Buyinza said the stolen cables were worth sh4.5m. “The thugs opened up an air-break switch at Busowoobi,†he said.
