KAWEMPE– The Police have handed over David Kigozi of Kawala zone to the family court after he reportedly failed to pay for his seven year-old daughter’s upkeep. The girl’s mother, Mary Nabakooza, reported the matter. “I have been giving her money but she does not appreciate,” Kigozi said.

221 defiled
KAYUNGA – A total of 221 girls have been defiled in the district since January, the Officer in- charge of CID at Kayunga Police Station, Angello Okello, has said. Okello said recently that defilement cases topped the list of crimes reported every month. He attributed the increase to moral decay and drug abuse.

Driver fined
NAKAWA – Court recently sentenced a driver to a sh300,000 fine or eight-months in jail for reckless driving. Grade One Magistrate Flavia Nassuna Matovu convicted Deogratias Kagombe, 45, of Mbuya Zone II in Nakawa after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
