KISORO district LC5 chairman Philemon Mateke recently told the minister of Health, Jim Muhwezi, that residents had waited too long for the promised tarmac road, reports Charles Opolot.
â€œKisoro district is a gateway to Rwanda and Congo. We need a tarmac road,â€ Mateke said.
Muhwezi, who was chief guest at the recent ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a district hospital, said the Government was aware of the needs of the people of Kisoro.
â€œas far as this road is concerned, everything possible is being done to have it tarmarcked,â€ Muhwezi said.
Dr. James Nsaba Buturo, the Bufumbira East MP, described Kisoro as a strategic district in terms of security, tourism and unexploited minerals. Ends
