JUSTIN “The Ugandan Destroyer” Juuko did it the slow but sure way, out-pointing Tanzanian Godfrey Mawe to win the ‘To be or not to be’ professional fight on Saturday.

Up against a rugged fighter, and cautious not to aggravate a cut on his lip, Juuko kept his distance, throwing only punches he knew would get on target. Tanzanian lightweight Mawe, was a standing but beaten man by a unanimous points decision at the end of the 10-round fight at Lugogo stadium.

Juuko, whose new record stands at 37-1-7(27 Kos) constantly complained about head butting by south paw Mawe 16-1-1(12 Kos).

Juuko had the fight in his hands, taking round four, five, six, seven, eight and ten, but Mawe had Juuko in trouble in round five and seven.

The Tanzanian opponent pinned him in the corner with hard upper cuts.

“He was a dirty fighter and constantly head butted me and that is why I had to keep my distance,” an elated Juuko said after the fight.

Juuko has a record of five wins at home, the list of his victims being Martin Ramirez of Mexico, Vladimir Matkivski of Ukraine, David Ouma, Charles Owiso all of Kenya and Mawe.

Mawe said this was one of the hardest opponent’s he has ever fought. “He is really a good skillful fighter.”
