Man charged
JINJA – A bodaboda cyclist has been charged with the theft sh359,000 and a Visa issued by a British embassy. Robert Waiswa appeared before the Chief Magistrate recently. Waiswa allegedly committed the offence on November 11 at Nile Gardens, in the Municipality.
New boss
KAMULI – The district council has approved Uganda’s former ambassador to France also chairman NAADS, Dr. David Kazungu, as the District Service Commission chairman. Council was presided over by the speaker, Stephen Mubira who made the approval during council meeting.
Chiefs warned
PALLISA – District chairman Bob Wasugirya has asked sub-county and parish chiefs who fail to collect taxes to resign before they are retired. He said they were under threat of losing funding from Local Government and other donor programmes because chiefs failed to collect revenue.
