LC5 want same salary
APAC — The district council chairman, Ben Olwa, has appealed to the Government to expedite the process of paying a uniform salary to district chairpersons. Olwa said this recently during a regional local government budget framework papers workshop at Eneko Training Village in Soroti. The workshop attracted district chairpersons, RDCs, chief administrative officers and mayors from Apac, Kapchorwa, Gulu and Mbale districts.

Gulu vehicles stuck in mud
GULU — Over 50 vehicles including buses, were stuck in three separate gullies caused by the heavy rains on the Karuma-Pakwach road in the Murchsion Falls National Park. This forced the UPDF to deploy a helicopter gunship to protect the travellers as ways were being worked out to remove the vehicles. Travellers were mainly scared of attacks from the Lord’s Resistance Army of Joseph Kony.
