THE Chief Justice, Benjamin Odoki (pictured), yesterday urged lawyers to derive pleasure in being called professional lawyers rather than professional liars.
Odoki, who had just called to the Bar 64 out of 65 fresh advocates, said Uganda needed lawyers, who treasured moral and ethical ideas.
“You should take pride in belonging to this honourable and noble profession,” he said.
“You should not be referred to as double agents or aiders and abettors of wrongdoing or any such dirty names.
“I believe lawyers should have a conscience and a name to protect,” Odoki, who was flanked by the Court of Appeal Justice, Stephen George Engwau and Justice John Bosco Katutsi, added.
