Businesswomen get new leader

The chairperson Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Limited (UWEAL), Sarah Kitakule has said that more women going into business

The chairperson Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Limited (UWEAL), Sarah Kitakule has said that more women going into business.

“It is true that the number of women starting their own businesses is on the increase. Limiting childbirth is also common now. Most important of all is that women are choosing to become entrepreneurs as a first choice option,” she said.

“Such a trend is going to be very vital for Uganda because women the world over are known to have successful ventures.”

Kitakule was speaking at UWEAL’s board hand-over ceremony and end of year dinner dance held in Nakasero over the weekend. Kitakule is new board chairperson.

Kitakule replaces Lilian Kahenano. Kitakule is deputised by Lydia Obbo. Others on the board are Eve Kasirye, Harriet Mucunguzi, Enid Twinomusinguzi, Sarah Lubega, Lucy Muwuluke, Bernadette Katurebe, Catherine Tindimwesi and Irene Mutumba.

UWEAL presently brings together 700 women with the basic goal of making them successful in their ventures.
