EXPRESS boss Godfrey Kirumira is destined to retain his post unopposed.

Information from the Express camp says that the chairman, who has bankrolled the club for the past five years is set to bounce back come the December 15 elective general assembly at Wankulukuku stadium.

A month since club secretary Kavuma Kabenge announced the polls, only Kirumira has shown his intentions for the hot seat.
“I am going to stand. People should come and vote people able to lift the club to greater heights,” said Kirumira yesterday.

Francis Buwule, who was one of the members on the committee who demanded for the assembly ruled out Twaha Gwaivu.

“He (Gwaivu) is not going to stand as a far as I know. It is only Kirumira who has shown interest and he might end up being the sole candidate. We should wait until the assembly if more candidates are to show up,” said Buwule.

Over 400 fans have registerrd ahead of the assembly.
Registration, which is at sh5,000 per annum, is taking place at Wankulukuku.

FUFA will not give their Rwandan counterparts FERWAFA the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) for Henry Kakooza.

Kakooza’s name was among the five Express players needed by APR to boost their competition in the CECAFA club championship and CAF competitions next year.

“They have written to us requesting for ITCs but Express declared Kakooza a deserter and can not play for any club for one year. The CAF statutes are very clear on this,” said Mawanda.

Other Express players wanted by APR are former team captain James Odoch, Manfred Kizito, Francis Gozanga and Richard
Malinga.

A Vietnam club Gach Dong Tam Long An has also requested for an ITC for Fred Makokha while SC Villa has acquired Shaban Kisigga’s ITC from Tanzania. He was formerly with Kariokoo SC.
