The Uganda Government and the African Development Bank (ADB) are funding rehabilitation of the fishing industry along Lake George and Edward at $15m, reports John Nzinjah.
The five-year project which has already kicked off is to establish small scale income generating activities among the people living near the fish landing sites.
Phoebe Mtambo, who led a delegation from the ADB said this during a visit to some fish landing sites along lakes George and Edward.
The officials discussed with the Uganda government officials a way forward for the industry.
Present were district leaders from Bushenyi and Kasese.
