JUSTIN Juuko believes he can still win a world title. Juuko revealed to The New Vision that he will be getting his long-anticipated title shot in March, on either the IBF or WBO championships, if he maintained his current glorious form.
He made this revelation after his triumph against third-ranked Godfrey Mawe had thrust him back into contention.
Following his defeat of the Tanzanian lightweight champion, Mawe by a unanimous points decision, Juuko also reiterated his desire to grace the ring till his body orders him to stop.
The Ugandan Destroyer however has to first negotiate the last hurdle, in form of a yet to be known contender, in a boxing contest slated for January next year. Juuko promised the contender would be established by mid next week.
“I will also bring that fight home to Uganda to thank my domestic fans”, Juuko added
Juuko, a self-professed optimist, ruled out retirement, dismissing claims that he was in the twilight of his career as mere talk by his detractors. He added that he still had a decade of fights in him and on evidence of his fight against Mawe, that he was deficient of class as well.
“How many champions are still fighting at 35?” queried the pugilist as he dismissed Mawe’s accusations of head-butting.
