THE secretary general of the Pan African Movement and New Vision columnist, Dr. Tajudeen Abdul-Raheem, is a free man after Nigerian security released his passport, reports Felix Osike.

Tajudeen was stopped at the security desk of Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos last Tuesday as he cleared immigration and other departure formalities. He was due to fly out on BA flight 074 scheduled for London, Heathrow.

“I went back to the Nigerian State Security Service (SSS) offices at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos.

“After some rather tense engages, I was informed that I had been cleared and could travel whenever I wanted,” Tajudeen said in an e-mail to the New Vision.

A statement issued and signed by David Mafabi, the PAM director of political affairs at the secretariat in Kampala, condemned the seizure.
