THE Director, Water Development Department, Patrick Kahangire, has advised water departments to purchase equipment from Victoria Pumps, a firm approved by the ministry.
“I am sometimes perturbed by some district officials who abandon genuine spares in their stores and authorise payments for sub-standard spares bought at exorbitant prices,†Kahangire said.
He was recently addressing a
closing workshop in Mbale for district leaders and staff of the concluded Rural Water and Sanitation project which begun in 1996.
