THE Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Samuel Balagadde Ssekkadde, has decried the war in the north, saying Ugandans need peace.
Ssekkadde, clad in beautifully designed cream ceremonial robes, said Ugandans have not enjoyed peace.
He also decried the increasing cases of cannibalism, child sacrifice, rape and defilement.
“We need peace in the church, families, community and the country. When you read newspapers, wars are everywhere in Uganda and in Africa. There are a lot of deaths now.”
“The situation surrounding us is full of fear. Where shall we run to apart from God?” Ssekkadde who was the main celebrant during Christmas prayers at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe, asked.
He told the fully packed church that the increasing witchcraft and defilement have created insecurity in Uganda.
Ssekkadde said, “Even foreigners were sacrificing people. I read about one who is now eating people. Your child goes somewhere but he/she does not come back. The Government should help us. Rapists are also everywhere. You find a carrying a baby but ends up raping her.”
Prime Minister Prof. Apollo Nsibambi attended the service that was flavoured by good voices from the choir. Ends
