Man charged
MPIGI – A 27-year-old man has been committed to the High Court on charges of defiling a one-month-old baby. Grade Two Magistrate Charles Yeteise committed Bernard Kabanda of Mussa village, Kammengo, after the prosecution completed inquiries on the matter. Court heard that Kabanda committed the offence on June 27, 2001. Prosecution alleged that the accused defiled the baby after removing her from a tree shade, pretending to baby sit it. He went with her up to his home.

Triplets get
KAMPALA – Mukwano Group has donated sh500,000 to Linda Nakitende, the mother of the triplets abandoned by their father. The money was handed over to Jacqueline Hodgkins, founder of Welcome Africa Home Ministries by David Mutasayi, Mukwano’s Public relations officer. Nkitende’s condition was published in The New Vision of December 19. Hodgkins picked the triplets and mother from Mulago Hospital where they were stranded after doctors discharged them.
