By Dennis OjweThere was no voting in all the 18 polling stations in Pader district due to late arrival of ballot boxes in the district.Leonard Opio Ojok, the Returning Officer, said the boxes arrived in Pader at 6:00pm yesterday when the official voting time had elapsed.He said voters walked away in dismay and the entire district was so disappointed with the Electoral Commission.He said the voters were disgusted and expressed lack of interest in voting again.He said a total of 149 ballot boxes were received in the district instead of the 175 expected. He said the ballot boxes were at Pajule police station.He said he had gone to the Electoral Commission offices in Kampala to know the plight of the LC polls in Pader.District security officials, including the police and the army, said the entire electoral process in the district was disorganised.“If this is the way the EC can do its work, then we move that chairman Aziz Kasujja be removed from that office immediately,” Opio said.Meanwhile, in Gulu district most of the incumbent LC3 chairmen have been voted out, according to partial results released yesterday by the Electoral commission in Gulu.In Laybia sub-county in Gulu municipality, the incumbent Patrick Jimmy Moro got 522 votes while Walter Odokonyer led with 1,218 votes.In Laroo sub-county, Martin Opwony-Pur, the incumbent, got 689 votes as runner-up to Richard Odokonyero who got 1,319 votes.In Bardege, Christopher Acire won with 1,150 votes followed by the incumbent, Tony Okoya Kende, with 936 votes.In Koro sub-county in Omoro, the incumbent Ventorino Oyika (864 votes) was beaten by Kolo Donaciano who got 1,202 votes.In Alero sub-county in Nwoya, George Otto got 986 while Okech Maurenciso got 733 votes. In Anak subcounty, Simon Obwona won with 1,029 votes while Akena Owiny got 694 votes.Ends
