Although Education and Sports Minister Dr. Khiddu Makubuya said there was a ‘consensus’ between key education partners and all stakeholders, representatives of funding agencies interviewed by The New Vision said the new curriculum would compound, rather than solve the country’s education problems. “The curriculum introduces a lot of costs in teaching music, integrated production skills and agriculture, among other things,” George Kalibbala, Education Advisor to the Royal Netherlands Embassy, said.“There is a shortage of teachers countrywide and a high number of pupils,” he said.Ends
