The Fort Portal Municipality mayor-elect Asaba Edison Ruyonga, yesterday met the Movement vice-chairman, Alhaji Moses Kigongo.

By Vision ReporterThe Fort Portal Municipality mayor-elect Asaba Edison Ruyonga, yesterday met the Movement vice-chairman, Alhaji Moses Kigongo.Ruyonga recommitted his support to the Movement and President Yoweri Museveni, according to a statement from the Movement Secretariat information director, Ofwono Opondo.Ruyonga said his support for former presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye was not a desertion of the Movement.Opondo quoted Ruyonga as saying, “I disassociate myself from the cheap political method of labelling me a reformist. I had joined Besigye but found the mistake along the way and I am now back in the Movement”.Ruyonga, who was accompanied by a delegation led by businessman Chris Kaijuka appealed for reconciliation, unity and development of Fort Portal.The statement read, “Kigongo welcomed Ruyonga and appealed to Movement supporters who support Besigye to return to the mainstream Movement and join in developing the country”.Kigongo said “I appeal to people to come back and we sort out any differences we may have had.”He said one needs to stay in the Movement to reform it but not to abandon it. “The Movement bus is moving with the same driver and shall reach all destination,” Kigongo said.Ends
